In September, Alpine participated in the AWEA Offshore Windpower Conference & Exhibition at the Baltimore Convention Center. Alpine’s President, Rob Mecarini, was co-chair of the event and the Alpine team attending manned an exhibit booth.
One of the social highlights of the conference was the party sponsored by Alpine commemorating the completion of the geophysical and geotechnical survey campaign for US Wind’s project offshore Ocean City. The event, which was held on the grounds of the Baltimore Aquarium, featured live music, tours of the R/V Shearwater (which conducted the survey work for US Wind) and plenty of food and drink. In spite of a torrential down pour, the crowd of developers, federal and state officials, and key supply chain providers enjoyed the opportunity to mingle, relax and get to know each other outside of “work”.
Alpine was also honored to have the Director of BOEM, Abigail Hopper, present for a private tour of the Shearwater during the conference.
