HSEQ Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote, plan, develop and implement new and existing HSE systems within the business that align not only with the business but at Group level.
  • Carry out compliance auditing of the office, project sites and vessels and implement corrective measures where necessary.
  • Ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established federal, state and local government guidelines as well as internal policy and reporting requirements.
  • Carry out internal training for employees on safety and QA/QC policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Attend, present and lead safety discussions and presentations at pre-job meetings, safety days and client meetings.
  • Maintain and update any HSE and QA/QC third party database or certification system (such as IS Networld, IMCA CMID) which may be required by a client.
  • Lead accident and high potential near miss incident investigations and produce timely reports including recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Develop project specific HSE plans, ERP’s, risk assessments, operating procedures and reporting requirements alongside the project manager.
  • Manage the company’s proactive safety reporting system and feed back to UK parent company on close out actions and review of the data.
  • Traveling to projects both within the US and overseas will be required.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Four-year degree.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience in the field of HSE/OH&S.
  • Working knowledge of the offshore survey industry.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Certification (ASP, CSP, CIH or IOSH).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate would be an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Experience conducting HSE audits, inspections and assessments.
  • Experience in developing HSEQ systems and working with ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel national and internationally.
  • Strong organizational, communication and managerial skills.
  • Self-motivated, but must work effectively in teams and with senior management.
  • Experience communicating critical risks to senior management in ways that are clear, compelling and actionable.
