HSEQ Coordinator

Alpine is looking for a HSEQ Coordinator to join our team.

Founded in 1957, Alpine specializes in the planning and implementation of multidiscipline surveys in inland, estuarine, coastal and offshore environments. Company capabilities include geophysical, geotechnical, hydrographic, oceanographic, environmental, and positioning services. Alpine also operates its own research vessels ranging from ocean-going foreign-flagged to trailerable boats. 

This position will be located in Norwood, NJ. This role includes travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities:

-          Draft and revise a variety of HSEQ procedures related to vessel and offshore survey services
-          Actively support internal departments in the development of new compliance initiatives
-          Facilitate the implementation of HSE and quality assurance policies
-          Encourage awareness and ownership of HSEQ and other internal procedures
-          Ensure compliance with HSEQ regulations including document control
-          Maintain policies and information in accordance with regulations, company policy, and client requirements
-          Complete HSE sections in tender submissions
-          Draft project HSE and ERP plans
-          Collect, track and organize HSEQ data per company policy and client specifications
-          Manage/update client external safety portals (ISNetWorld, OVMSA, Veriforce, etc.)
-          Conduct and track assessments and vessel audits
-          Review and track safety observation cards
-          Ensure that all incidents are recorded and appropriate corrective action is taken
-          Act as an SME, delivering training as needed

Qualifications:

-          Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
-          Experience in the environmental, safety or quality field is a strong plus
-          Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, or ISO 14001 is a strong plus
-          Knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety regulations is preferred
-          Ability to compile, interpret and integrate HSEQ and regulatory information
-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-          Highly organized with strong attention to detail
-          Proactive in identifying and integrating relevant information into policy
-          Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
-          Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
-          Local candidates only
-          Must be able to travel up to 25%
