Electronics Technician

  • Maintain and organize warehouse space for the storage of marine survey equipment.
  • Enter and track the location of all equipment (company-owned and rentals) in our resource management system.
  • Provide support for team members conducting mobilizations and demobilizations in the warehouse including item checklists, testing checklists, and packing/palletizing/loading gear for shipment to a project.
  • Ensure that all equipment returning from the field has been properly inventoried, rinsed and checked for damage. As well as organize the return of equipment to rental companies.
  • Diagnose and conduct repairs on damaged equipment returning from the field and communicate/organize shipment to vendor for repair.
  • Return all equipment to proper location in warehouse space and ensure that location is updated in our resource management system.
  • Maintain and review project requirements within the resource management system: equipment reservations, packing lists, and facilitate equipment rental process.
  • Review manufacturers’ specifications and contact manufacturer for support issues related to survey equipment including GPS equipment, side scan sonars, magnetometers, multibeam echosounder, single beam echosounder, seismic sensors (chirp, sparker, and boomer), sediment samplers, water samplers, cameras, and Sound Velocity Profilers (SVPs)/CTDs.
  • Perform bench-level testing of electronics equipment.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance and diagnostic tests on computer systems, office and field equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Associates or Bachelor degree in Electronics Technology.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in electronics and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with geophysical and marine survey equipment is a strong plus.
  • Experience with multimeters, soldering and de-soldering.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
  • -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills a must.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to travel to offsite assignments.
  • Ability to differentiate wire and cable colors as well as various audible tone
